ABOUT THE ARTIST
Claudio Costa
"Attracted by the charm of the landscape, between luminous snow-covered streams and paths that the brush animates with a rhythmic rustle of tones, light and shadow, in a choppy style, where the silence of the snow or the passage of the wind through the branches is captured . "
Lover of the reflections of nature and the colors of the Impressionists, Costa paints the emotions of light that he manages to find in the Lombard and Piedmontese landscapes. The acute attention to detail makes him interpret unrepeatable moments on the canvas such as the fiery reverberation of dawn on a stream or the last lightning of the day in a dense bush. His painting fascinates for the silky sheen with which he cloaks the vegetation in skilful calibrations of tonal tones and precious shades. In the "Autumn Awakening in the Langhe" the vineyards shine luxuriantly with vine leaves in various gradations of green, just shaken by some warm chromatic accent, immersed in the pink sea of the waves of hills in the distance. Exciting fairytale harmony in "Walk under the Snow in La Morra", among the Nebbiolo grape vineyards where Barolo wine is born: here the tonal shades of white crystallize around the black monochromes - with soft bluish reflections - of the landscape sculpted in the shadow of the hazy sky but already propitious of slight light.

Claudio Costa was born and works in Rho (MI) Italy, he has been painting with passion for over 40 years.
Self-taught, he began his artistic career by studying in depth the painting of the French Impressionists, who profoundly marked his way of painting. Nature is for him an inexhaustible source of ideas and emotions. His paintings are present in numerous private Italian and foreign collections, especially in the United States where he stayed for work. He has obtained numerous prizes and awards in various painting competitions.
The object of his painting is Nature, the ancient Mother giver of gifts and generator of life, captured in its many aspects. His paintings represent fertile countryside, multicolored meadows, lush forests, the magic of snow: ideal rural dimensions that seem to want to stop and capture the "Spirit of Nature".
His painting is optimistic, sunny, so much so as to involve the observer in the limpid purity of the colors and the freshness of the combinations. Claudio Costa is also a teacher of landscape painting and watercolor courses, many students who participated with satisfaction in his landscape courses.
